Meet our Patron: Christopher Bugaj

Our patrons support Communication Matters by positively representing the charity, raising awareness of AAC, and helping attract engagement and support in line with our mission and values.

The Board of Trustees is pleased to introduce Christopher Bugaj MA CCC-SLP as a patron of Communication Matters.

Christopher is a founding member of the Assistive Technology Team for Loudoun County Public Schools (Virginia, USA) and is currently the district’s Assistive Technology Specialist. While he lives and works in the United States, Christopher will be joining us in Leeds at CM’s International AAC Conference and we look forward to delegates having the opportunity to hear and meeting him. 

Christopher has established his reputation for raising awareness of  Assistive Technology in education. With his podcast,  Talking With Tech ,  Christopher explores and reveals the world of AAC and Assistive Technology and its applications by people with a diverse range of communication needs. (Chris interviewed Bob Sagoo, CM Trustee, about the life and legacy of Bob’s son Harchie, episode 353.)

Chris has also hosted The A.T.TIPSCAST; a multi‐award winning podcast featuring strategies to design educational experiences. 

Chris is the author of The New Assistive Tech: Make Learning Awesome For All, first and second editions. He is also the co-author of Inclusive Learning 365: EdTech Strategies for Every Day of the YearTips to Activate Inclusive Learning (QuickWins! Strategy Cards) and The Practical (and Fun) Guide to Assistive Technology in Public Schools all of which are published by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). 

Chris co-authored two chapters for a book published by Brookes Publishing titled Technology Tools for Students with Autism

Chris co‐produces the Night Light Stories podcast which features original stories for children of all ages. 

Chris has presented over 750 live or digital sessions at local, regional, state, national and international events, including TED
