Communication Matters is leading the AAC Evidence Base research project which aims to improve the quality of life of people in the UK who need AAC by raising awareness of their needs and improving service provision.

You would be based at Manchester Metropolitan University and your particular responsibilities would be the development of the AAC evidence database. This database would require knowledge and skill in the areas of information systems technology, database construction and management, applications of digital / multimedia and software engineering.

This is a unique collaboration between the charity Communication Matters (ISAAC-UK), MMU, Barnsley Hospital and Sheffield University and is focussed on enhancing our understanding of augmentative and alternative communication systems (AAC) and how such system may support those with significant communication impairments. This research is funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
