To keep people busy during these troubled times, we decided to offer free webinars to get familiar with our AAC apps. Last week we hosted our first online training about “Using Visual Scene Displays to create communication aids on the fly” and demoed our VSD-based app Scene & Heard (watch the replay if you missed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTG8lyATJlc&t=257s).

We are now planning on hosting a second one and would love you to vote between Predictable and ChatAble.
Enter your email and select your favourite topic in this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf8J6grYbRPkNIDHVAW77QWB7FCsDzp84LMoFhIlmciOCkUOQ/viewform?usp=sf_link

What is LAMP?
Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP) is a therapeutic approach using motor learning principles and a voice output communication aid to give non-verbal individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities a method to develop independent and spontaneous communication. Individuals using the LAMP approach learn to use words and build sentences to communicate their wants, needs and ideas by pressing buttons on a speech generating device.

What’s included with the LAMP Words for Life app?

  • High quality Ivona text-to-speech voices
  • Three developmentally progressive vocabulary files
  • Pre-stored core and fringe words
  • Vocabulary Builder: Allows chosen words to be visible while the remaining vocabulary is hidden
  • Word Finder: Helps the user find where words are stored
  • Ability to store customised vocabulary and edit individual buttons

For more information on the LAMP™ approach visit The Centre for AAC and Autism’s Website – https://www.aacandautism.com/
